Hitting the Street

This week was another milestone for the campaign. Candidates had from July 9 to July 15 to gather 100 signatures from Newport voters to get on the ballot in November, so I started my walking campaign collecting signatures and introducing myself to residents around the city. On Wednesday afternoon, I had a great time speaking with locals at the Aquidneck Growers Market on Memorial Boulevard. I was encouraged to talk to so many Newporters who care about the city and are excited to share their thoughts.

With the help of a few volunteers, we gathered well over the 100 required signatures by Thursday afternoon. This is just the beginning though. I will be visiting residents all summer to talk about our thoughts the future of the city.

And in case you missed it, I was featured in the Newport Daily News this week!

As always, stay in touch, and I'll see you this summer!
